Adult Education & Career Pathways
Spring Institute’s Adult Education & Career Pathways program supports learners through welcoming classes and individualized career coaching.
Building Pathways to Opportunities—Through Language
Since its founding in 1979, Spring Institute has been providing welcoming, specialized English language training. We offer community-based English classes and career pathway programs for immigrant and refugee adults across the Denver metro area. Our approach goes beyond traditional ESL by combining language learning with community engagement, career exploration, and partnerships with local organizations and employers.
We believe that when New Americans have the tools to advance in their careers, entire families and communities thrive. Our programs are rooted in trust, cultural responsiveness, and a deep commitment to supporting each participant’s goals and potential.

“ [My English instructor at Spring Institute] is one of the greatest teachers I have ever met. She does more than she suppose[d] to do. Every time I attend her class, I feel excited, and every time I can’t make it, I feel upset. If I take this class with her a hundred times, I will never feel bored. I want to say thank you to the Spring Institute for this teacher and thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Career Pathways
We offer free Workforce Navigation & Career Coaching support to all students who are enrolled in Spring Institute English classes. Services include job search support, resume writing, interview practice, and connections to local training programs.

Why This Work Matters
Immigrant and refugee community members bring valuable skills, experience, and resilience, yet many face barriers to advancing their careers. At the same time, employers across Colorado are facing workforce shortages in healthcare, education, construction, and other essential industries. We believe New Americans are a vital part of the solution—strengthening Colorado’s workforce while helping build more inclusive, prosperous communities for everyone.
-
- Immigrants make up roughly 14% of Colorado’s workforce (1 of 7) with nearly 480,000 workers and contribute an estimated $29 billion to the Colorado economy annually.
- Approximately 34.90% of foreign-born Coloradans aged 25 and over have at least a bachelor’s degree
- “Colorado benefits from the contributions of immigrants to grow its economy, and the immigrant labor force cannot be taken for granted.”
